SQL Database Administrator – HCL Nagpur (8+ Years Experience)
HCL is hiring a seasoned SQL Database Administrator for its Nagpur location. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with 8+ years of experience in managing, optimizing, and securing SQL Server environments across on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
📍 Location: Nagpur
🕒 Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days
💼 Experience: 8+ Years
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer SQL Server databases in Production, Testing, and Development environments.
- Perform configuration, load balancing, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Administer SQL Server/EC2/RDS SQL Server on-prem and in AWS cloud, including S3 and FSx.
- Lead AWS migration projects and work with Redshift and PostgreSQL.
- Implement and manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) strategies: Clustering, Always On, AAG, DAG, etc.
- Work with SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and implement PowerShell automation for routine tasks.
- Utilize monitoring tools like SQL Sentry to proactively manage performance and issues.
- Perform performance optimization including indexing, tuning, and configuration improvements.
- Maintain security through authentication, monitoring, login/user management, and alert response.
- Provide on-call support during off-business hours and weekends as needed.
Required Skills:
- Advanced expertise in SQL Server Administration
- Strong hands-on with AWS cloud, including RDS, EC2, Redshift, and S3
- Deep experience in HA/DR strategies and enterprise-level SQL Server architecture
- Skilled in PowerShell scripting, performance tuning, and database optimization
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
